For me, peak performance is not about working 24/7. It's about maximizing your potential WHEN you work, and planning down time to recharge and rest when you don't. And you, what is your productivity method?

I read recently that only 9% of people get promoted. You won’t be promoted if: You beg for the promotion, as if you're entitled. You take advice from people who never got thereYou start your "real" work at 5 pm, post meetings. You wait for your turn so you won't upset anyone. You never make a business case for the promotionYou wait for your manager to tell you you're readyYou stay when there's no opportunity for growth. You follow the corporate ladder and timeline. You focus on tactics vs strategy. You work harder, not smarter. Promotions are not just about hard work. It's about thinking strategically and taking ownership. Managing your career instead of letting it manage you.

Managing a team full of talent spread all around the world is a privilege. Getting most of them in the same place for a full week was a real treat! Last week's offsite in Tashkent🇺🇿provided an invaluable opportunity for us to come together and reflect as a team. Through thoughtful discussions and introspection, we explored our individual roles and contributions, gaining clarity on how we can better align our efforts to achieve our common goals. Our time in Samarkand served as a poignant backdrop for these conversations, inspiring us with its rich history and timeless beauty, and reinforcing the importance of collaboration and unity as we navigate the challenges ahead. The offsite not only strengthened our #team dynamics but also invigorated us with a renewed sense of #purpose and camaraderie. As we return to our respective roles, we carry forward the insights from our discussions and the memories created during our adventures. With a deeper understanding of our place within the organization and a commitment to working together more effectively, we are poised to make meaningful strides towards our shared objectives, fueled by the bonds forged during our time together. #UNOPS #OneUNOPS #PLG Louise Leech Christine Bowers Asbjørn Brink Mariacarmen Colitti Arnaud Sgambato Daniel Elliott Djeneba Sako Patrick Ellsworth Kajsa H.
