Nellis AFB, NV - Arrival

Bus service is available along with taxi service from the airport to the base. Nellis Air Force Base is located about 15 miles from the McCarran International Airport.

Payment Options Fares must be paid in U.S. currency. Credit Cards are accepted. Passengers paying with credit cards are charged a $3.00 fee over the meter charge. Receipts A taxicab passenger in Las Vegas must be given a completed receipt if they request one.

If you need to call a taxi, your hotel or restaurant can normally do this for you. Nevertheless, the following are some contact numbers for Taxi companies that may be useful: Yellow Cab Co: 702-873-2000. Vegas Western Cab Co: 702-736-6121.

Taxis can be found outside the exit doors numbered 1-4 on the east side of baggage claim. Airport staff are on hand to assist with queue management and provide any necessary help. On Level Zero, you can find taxis located outside near exit door numbered 52 on the west side of the building.

The app might match a driver with a passenger on the base. But in most cases, the driver can't access the base, according to Lyft. The base mode feature only matches passengers to drivers who are allowed to access the base. These drivers might be military, military spouses, or retired veterans.

Transportation Tipping

Cab driver: 15 percent to 20 percent tip of the fare. (Find out ahead of time if your cabbie accepts a credit card. If he or she doesn't, make sure you have enough cash for both fare and tip.)

It's important to keep in mind that surge pricing may apply during peak times. So, if you're looking for a more predictable pricing option, taxis might be the way to go. However, if you're willing to take advantage of potential lower fares during off-peak times, Uber could be a more cost-effective choice.

Las Vegas Taxi & Rideshare Tipping

Las Vegas is a bustling city, and sometimes taking a taxi or using a rideshare service is the most efficient way to get around. It's always important to tip your driver for their service, but how much should you give? Generally, a tip of 10-15% of the fare is appropriate.

Cabs are a very obvious mode of transportation in Vegas. You will find cabs everywhere in Las Vegas. Many cab companies have been around for a long time and it seems like the hotels favor them. You'll find plenty of cabs lined up at the airport, as well as any hotel in the area.

Taxis from Las Vegas Airport to Strip

Zone 1, which encompasses most of the Hotels at the South end of the Strip, including Luxor, MGM Grand, and Mandalay Bay, is a $21 flat fee, plus $3 credit card charge and $2 fuel charge.

Credit Cards are accepted in all Las Vegas cabs, however, passengers paying with credit cards are charged a $3.00 fee over the meter charge. Passengers can only be charged the amount shown on the taximeter plus any applicable credit card and/or e-hail transaction fees.

Taxis from the airport to strip hotels are now flat rate, either $21, $25, or $29 depending on which hotel. Uber/Lyft will likely be cheaper.
